| About SOA | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
A new paradigm for organizational information systems is creating infrastructure that supports modular, internet-based services. These services are essentially entry points where consumers can access the specific business capabilities that meet their needs. SOA allows companies to reduce their most frequently-used capabilities into "bite-size" pieces. By "Internet-enabling" these capabilities into services, the individual consumer can rapidly zero-in on a particular need. Perhaps of greater benefit is the ability for enterprises to refine their offerings into a set of net-accessible capabilities that can be composed seamlessly across their organization. This list supports those interested in gaining the knowledge to strategically advance their organizations with the incorporation of SOA methodologies, technologies, languages and tools.
